Definition of FFP
Frequent Flyer Program is a system based on passengers to collect points or “miles” and spend those points to offered rewards. Most of the airlines have loyalty programs to encourage their customers to fly more with them. On the other hand, FFP is not only improve airlines’ long-term financial performance, but also provides financial benefits to airlines’ customers.
Ryanair
Passengers who sign up for the “Ryanair Choice” program, which costs €199 a year, will also get 24-hour advance notice of four-seat sales a year. Passengers who take more than seven flights in a year, will make savings by joining Ryanair Choice. Ryanair is launching a fee-based frequent flyer scheme that gives free standard seat selection, fast-track airport access, priority boarding, and a 10kg checked baggage allowance.
Spirit
Spirit Airlines has a loyalty program called “Free Spirit”. This program gives point for each dollar spent, regardless of how far people fly. Passengers gain points for every purchase with Spirit Airlines and selected organizations. On the other hand, customers should not have to be frequent flyer to earn rewards and free flights because there is a pool system that stores your points. Redeem for any fare on any flight with redemptions as low as 2,500 points.
Etihad
FFP of Etihad has no restrictions on flight redemption or blackout dates. Each of the three zones on every trip includes a certain number of Guest Seats that are the best value for miles and can be reserved for a set mileage fee. To ensure that members may still select the time of their trip and use their miles to book the flight of their choice, Etihad has also established the concept of Open Seats. While the number of miles needed depends on the fare level (class) taken, members still have the choice to use their miles whenever it is most suitable for them to fly if there are seats available.
Qatar
FFP of Qatar Airways is called “Privilege Club”. They offer wide range of exclusive privileges and benefits designed to make travelling with them even more rewarding. The higher your membership tier, the more benefits you will enjoy because their membership designed to suit the specific needs of their members in different tiers. Passengers will need to have earned at least 20% of your Qpoints or have flown 4 sectors on flights either marketed or operated by Qatar Airways.
Aeroflot
The name of Aeroflot FFP is “Bonus Loyalty Program”. To use its privileges, you must fly with Aeroflot or shop, you earn miles and then you can use those miles. In addition, as you use this system, you can level up and benefit from elite levels privileges. This system consists of 3 levels: silver, gold, and platinum level. You earn back 150-200% of the miles you fly in economy class, 200% in comfort class and 200-250% in business class. In addition, if the earned miles do not expire for two years, all miles are forfeited.
BEST LOYALTY PROGRAM
We decided to choose “Free Spirit” of Spirit Airlines due to its pool and point systems. It does not require frequent fly schedule due to its pool system. On the other hand, passengers can earn point by spending money rather than flying long distances.
