We analyzed the number of passengers carried by Spirit Airlines in the last 10 years and we made some estimations. Total number of passengers carried by Spirit Airlines between 2010 to 2019 are;

Secondly, we convert the data into scatter plot graph in order to visualize it.

Thirdly, we add linear and exponential trendlines to control whether the data fits or not. After that, we made estimations for both trendlines to see which one is more accurate. We can understand the accuracy by looking at R square value. If it is higher, the estimation will be more precise.

We can interpret that, according to the forecast that we use linear trendline, the number of passengers is approximately thirty-five million people. On the other hand, when we examine the forecast that we use exponential trendline, total number of passengers is more likely to be fifty million people. In addition, due to its R square value, exponential trendline and our forecast is more precise than linear trendline.

When we look at the situation of the main market; the aviation industry has developed and grown compared to previous years. In addition, if there was no pandemic, the passenger numbers of the last 2 years would have been as predicted. For example, we can observe a decrease to 18.351.000 in 2020. However, if there was no pandemic, this figure would have exceeded 40 million according to our predictions.
